Zhau National Park
Parque Nacional Do Jau (Parque Nacional Do Jau) is located in Amazonia, mainly in the Zhau River Basin, one of the small tributaries Rio Negra. You can get to the park from the city of Manaus (about 200 km north). This is one of the largest parks in Brazil. Zhau was founded in 1980, and in 2000, the UNESCO World Heritage List. In 2003, after unification with other environmental territories, it was included in the Central Amazonian Reserve Complex.
Zhau includes the territory of several Amazonian ecosystems: low floors flying for many months, high floors, which are periodically flooded, and never slept interference. It is this relief morphology that determines the character of flora and fauna. On the variety of fauna also have their influence "black rivers". They are deeper than usual, the water in them is transparent with a dark tinge due to balances of decaying plants.
For Zhau National Park, a huge species diversity of flora. On average, one hectare of forest can be found up to 180 species of plants. In the forests there are up to five tiers of plants, of which at least three make up trees. Upper tiers consist mainly of various palm trees: ivory, irritia, packet, pyriuoo with edible fruits, called peach nuts, and others. There are many different ficuses, representatives of the family of legumes.
From typically Brazilian trees can be noted a dairy tree. It is famous for its sweet juice with juice resembling milk. Here you can meet a red tree, which gave its name Brazil (Pau Brazil). There is also a chocolate tree (cocoa), huge planes, ferns, bananas and various types of Bromeliev family (pineapple in it).
Surprises not only the variety of trees, but also the density of forests, especially low tiers. Trees and shrubs are intertwined by liaans and air roots. Almost everywhere there are gigantic, bright fragrant flowers, among them stand out with their beauty orchid.
There are a large number of animals in the park in the park, among them sloths, ants, Lamantins, Opossums, armadors, crocodile and black Caimans.
There is a unique ecosystem with diverse flora and fauna. Many of the plants growing here can only be found here, in separate sites of the National Park. In general, the Zhau National Park can be called paradise without exaggeration. Besides here, in Amazonia, an exemplary protection of nature and the environment is organized. The park is rich in waterfalls, visitor to visitors in incomparable beauty. But from an archaeological point of view, all this huge territory represents extreme interest. Being the first bridgehead colonization of Amazon, this terrain witnessed the fierce battles of Indian tribes, who do not want to leave these unique beautiful edges. Fashionable drawings, as well as archaeological finds of different eras give valuable information about the history of the region. Zhau National Park is considered to be a tourist pearl of Brazil.
A lot of eco-tours are held in the Zhau National Park. The duration of them is different: from a pair of hours up to several days. Tourists are offered hunting, fishing, equestrian and hiking, boat tours.
But for mass tourism the reserve is still not ready. These territories are still of interest primarily for scientists and researchers. But the natural beauties of this paradise corner of the planet excite the interest and ordinary lovers of nature. In the National Park, Zhau Protection of species, nature and the environment, great attention is paid. Pre-booking a visit to the reserve, about 1 month, is a prerequisite. National Park is a house for 400 species of plants that are found only here. And the animal world here is also represented by many species, as, however, the inhabitants of the local water. Only fish live here more than 500 species. Isn’t it indicative of how important the territory of Amazonia is for our planet and nature. Zhau is a completely unique reserve. Here, completely different periods and time of day are considered optimal for visiting various waterfalls. But the territories adjacent to the National Park can offer tourists an incredible number of natural and historical attractions.
